At Flourishing Communities, we believe that collaboration is key. We work closely with our clients to understand their goals and develop solutions that are tailored to their unique needs. Our approach is transparent, data-focused, results-driven, and community-centered. We start with your goals as priority, then we help you get clear on where your needs meet your organizational capacity and skills. We use a variety of processes tailored to your organization. These may include asset mapping, needs assessments, community engagement, target population identification, goal setting, evaluation planning, and more.
The focus of our services is to help both the public and private sectors of a community, increase their positive impact, foster a culture of innovation, and build a bridge between services and those served. We work with organizations of all sizes, from grassroots community groups to local government agencies. From idea to implementation, from concept to reality, our goal is to help strengthen communities by leveraging social capital to promote human flourishing.
Benita DeFrank - Principal and Founder
As the Principal of Flourishing Communities, Benita DeFrank has more than 35 years’ experience working in community development, housing policy, homelessness strategies and community engagement for both the public and private sectors. She recently retired, after career in local government that spanned more than 20 years.
Benita's broad experience covers working with community organizations, housing authorities, housing services, homeless service programs, affordable housing development, and recreation programs. She is a recognized leader, with a solution-oriented focus, and the ability to offer services in program development, program assessment, project coordination, community assessment, grants writing and administration services; all while elevating the voice of community.
